Companions
The companions, the fortunate people who were aware that being close to the Prophet was the greatest blessing in the world, saw Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), believed in him and died as Muslims. They played a significant role in conveying his words and deeds to other generations. For fifteen centuries, anyone who is reporting a word or deed of the Prophet mentions their names along with that of Prophet Muhammad, and millions of people include their names in their prayers. The companions tried to reflect his light on the mirrors of their memories, a light which emanates the compassion and love of the Prophet. From the very moment when they chose Islam as their religion they were dedicated to the Prophet with an enduring faith, and they fulfilled the duties of their new religion with an unquestioning submission.
